Beyonce Says Pregnancy Rumors Are “Untrue”

Rumors that Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child together lit up the Web and gossip pages today based on a report that cites a “rock solid” source. The website claims the singer is “fine and resting now” and expected to “continue working through her pregnancy,” and that Jay-Z is “extremely happy to be having his first child” with his wife. However a publicist for Beyoncé from her record company, sony says that the report is simply “untrue.”

Beyoncé has long been guarded about her private life. Despite the fact that she and Jay are two of the most successful artists of the decade — they recently topped a Forbes list of entertainment’s top-earning couples — even after they wed in April 2008, they kept their relationship extremely quiet. According to the New York Post, Beyoncé was not seen wearing a wedding ring until four months after they were married.

Still, the singer has been reluctantly opening up more about her marriage in public in recent months. She seemed visibly nervous when discussing her relationship with 60 Minutes in January. And when receiving a Grammy this year for Best Female Pop Vocal for “Halo,” Beyoncé thanked her husband onstage, although she didn’t call him out by name. Beyoncé most recently appeared beside Lady Gaga in the video for their The Fame Monster collaboration “Telephone.”
